The Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) of Türkiye has secured a landmark legal triumph on the international arena.
The General Assembly was attended by EMRA President Mustafa Yılmaz, MEDREG Vice President Mohammed Maayah, European Commission DG MENA Director Milou Beerpot, along with numerous heads and officials of regulatory bodies from various countries.
A workshop titled “Towards an Interconnected Mediterranean Electricity Market: Overcoming Technical and Political Barriers” was organized in Antalya, and hosted by EMRA and TEİAŞ, in collaboration with MEDREG and Med-TSO.
Within the scope of a project carried out by the Asian Development Bank, a delegation consisting of representatives from the Ministry of Energy of Pakistan, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the country's electricity distribution companies visited EMRA.
The delegation from the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) participated in the 22nd Annual Conference of the Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA), which took place on May 5–6, 2025, in Muscat, Oman.
Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Ankara Achmad Rizal Purnama visited EMRA President Mustafa Yılmaz. During the meeting, steps to improve energy cooperation between the two countries were evaluated.
A delegation comprising experts from the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic, JSC CHAKAN HPP, and OJSC NEGK, the transmission company of Kyrgyzstan, visited the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) on February 4, 2025.
The Cyber Security Simulation Conference in the Energy Sector, organized by EMRA, was attended by the Minister of Energy Alparslan Bayraktar, Parliamentary Commission Chairman Mustafa Varank, EMRA President Mustafa Yılmaz, and senior executives from both the public and private sectors.
It paves the way for unlicensed electricity generating power plants to combine their generation and operate as a large generation facility. With the spread of aggregation activities, both efficiency will be achieved and small businesses generating electricity will be able to earn income.
EMRA President Yılmaz; “While carrying our distribution sector to the future, it should definitely be a priority to seek solutions to today's problems with tomorrow's solutions and to go beyond traditional and easy methods in investment planning.”
EMRA President Mustafa Yılmaz, Board Members and staff, as well as names who have previously worked within the Authority participated in the EMRA iftaree dinner, which was held in the Authority’s cafeteria.
